I am really pleased to be able to participate in the blog tour fr My Favorite Mistake by Chelsea M. Cameron hosted by SupaGurl Tours.
Book Blurb:
Taylor Caldwell can't decide if she wants to kiss her new college roommate or punch him.
On the one hand, Hunter Zaccadelli is a handsome, blue-eyed bundle of charm. On the other, he's a tattooed, guitar-playing bundle of bad boy. Maybe that's why Taylor's afraid of falling in love with him, or anyone else. She doesn't want to get burned, and even though her other roommates adore him, she wants him gone before it's too late.
Hunter himself has been been burned before, but the fact that Taylor calls him out on his crap and has the sexiest laugh ever make him decide maybe love isn't a lost cause. They make a bet: if she can convince him she truly loves or hates him, he'll leave the apartment--and leave her alone. The problem is, the more time they spend together, the less she hates him, and the more she moves toward love.
But when the man who holds the key to Taylor's fear of giving up her heart resurfaces and threatens to wreck everything, she has to decide: trust Hunter with her greatest secret, or do everything in her power to win that bet and drive him away forever.

excerpt:
“Why
do you care?” That was the million dollar question. Why did it bother me so
much?
“Because
you’re my roommate,” I said, floundering.
“That’s
not enough of a reason. You wouldn’t throw a hissy fit if you found out Darah or
Renee lived here or had secret meetings with a guy named Joe. So why me?”
“Because.”
“That’s
not a reason.” He got up from his chair and stood right in front of me, our
chests only inches away. He tipped his head down to look in my eyes.
“I
think it’s because you like me. As much as you would rather choke to death than
admit it. And you want to know things about the people you like. You want to
know what they do when no one is watching, what movie makes them feel better
when they’re sick, what they really want to be when they grow up. Am I right?”
He
was so close, every time I breathed, I could smell him. You’d think after
sharing a room with him for several weeks, I’d be used to his smell, but it
seemed it had gotten even more potent. I had to close my eyes for a moment to
gain some composure.
“No,
Hunter. I don’t like you.”
“Good.
I don’t like you either.”
We
breathed in unison for a moment, and for that moment, the world stood still and
we were the only two people in it. I opened my eyes and let myself get lost in
his blue ones. Most of the time I avoided them. They were hypnotic, and I
didn’t like being caught staring.
“I.
Don’t. Like. You,” he said, bring his face a fraction closer with each word. I
couldn’t speak, or breathe, or think.

ReplyDeleteI just finished this book.. It's a good read! Thanks for such a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI liked it enough to read the whole book. The love story was sweet and it had some steamy parts, but just fell short for me. I've heard rumors that there will be another book and I am curious to see what Cameron would do with their story from here. Will I rush to read it? Probably not, but I'll definitely check it out.
