Obsession with Books is turning 4!!

4 Year blogoversary!

On the 30th of March Obsession with Books will be turning 4! Time has flown and I honestly didn’t think I’d ever stick with this little hobby of mine, there have been times where I have loved blogging but times where I have almost given up but my love of reading has never faltered, even during the ‘slumps’ of writing a review or choosing my next read.

My First Review: Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles

When I first started blogging I did it as a way to keep track of all the books/series/authors I was reading, I was using Goodreads but only ever rating the books so my blog came about to log my personal thoughts and to be honest I did it never expecting to have one follower let alone 1700+ so it has truly been an unexpected welcome.

Awesome bloggers you should follow: Kimba from the Caffeinated Book Reviewer, Nereyda from Mostly YA Book Obsessed, Carmel + at Rabid Reads, Nick from Nick's Book Blog, Ellen from Alway's YA at Heart - I visit these blog daily and their posts are always amazing , they also always bring a huge smile to my face with their comments! xx

Blogging at times has been my sanity; it’s my way of leaving real life behind to focus on bookish things, I have also met some amazing blogging friends from all around the world which has been absolutely wonderful, they are each inspirational and reading the comments I receive is something that makes my day so a very BIG thank-you!!

My First 5 star review: Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione

Getting to chat to publishers and authors is something I also didn’t expect and it still wows me every time I receive a book; get a tweet or a message from someone I really admire, my family at times thinks I am crazy when I squeal like a fangirl! I’m painfully shy in real life so having these online interactions is really wonderful.

My First Meme: 18 and Over Book Blogger Tag Along hosted by Bitten by Paranormal Romance

Thank-you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who follows me here, on Twitter, Goodreads or Facebook, it is greatly appreciated!

Random bits about me:

I love learning about other bloggers so I thought I'd share a few bits and pieces about me,

My fave TV series is the Big Bang Theory and I love action movies, we watched the Taken series recently with Liam Neeson and loved  it!

I’m a chocoholic! (except white choc) I’ve just discovered a great little chocolate café here recently called Oliver Brown and I am obsessed with their Crunchy ball hot chocs – do you guys have this café??

I struggle to read a physical book; I find I can get through an eBook copy in half the time. I am a huge fan of Young Adult and New Adult – Paranormal, Contemporary, UF, Fantasy and Sci Fi; everything I read needs to have some form of romance, I’m a sucker for a HEA.

I have the travel bug! We went to Florida last year (the 22 hour trip killed me) and I am already planning a trip next year to Disneyland Anaheim, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Hawaii – super excited!!

My favourite series is Fever by Karen Marie Moning and I’ll read anything written by Richelle Mead and Jennifer L. Armentrout. My fave standalone is The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay - I absolutely loved this book and on audio it is just as fabulous!

So as a way to celebrate this milestone I have decided to offer two (2) very special followers a chance to win a book of their choice (pre-orders accepted) from The Book Depository to the value of $15aud each.

** Giveaway is open internationally as long as TBD ships to you.

  2. oh congrats!! Four years is a great accomplishment. My four year blogiversary will be in April, and I still can't believe its been that long. For me I wanted a way to talk books with those that had the same interests that I do. I agree with you on HEA...nothing better right? I do enjoy the Fever series, but I think I like her highlander series a bit more.

  3. The big FOUR is a HUGE milestone. Congrats! *throws confetti* I'm battling a bloggy slump right now, therefore I know exactly what you mean; I'm just doing the minimum at the moment (been slacking on my commenting—sorry!), but I'm still reading up a storm so all is not lost. LOL Fever is indeed an awesome series, although I must admit that I was disappointed by Burned, and the fact that the next book's release date just got bumped has me concerned. Déjà vu much? Anyway, happy blogiversary!! :D

    1. Thanks Carmel! x These bloggy slumps are sucky, nothing is holding my interest at the moment {sigh}.

Fever is the best! I still need to read Iced & Burned - I'm nervous about both of them.

  4. Happy Blogoversary Sharon!!! Four years is amazing. I think we change as our blogs age and go through different patterns. I still haven't read the Fever series but hope to do so on audio. Yes I do love my HEA, but you know me I read from all genres. I will say since blogging I have really pushed those genre barriers and discovered some new authors. The best part is the friends like you I have made. Congrats again sweetie!!
