How far will you go for perfection?

For “Perfect Paige” Westfield, today is “D” Day. As in, she just got one on her calculus test. With her dreams of Stanford, her reputation, and her parents’ expectations at stake, Paige needs to find a way to save face before everything she’s worked for goes up in flames.

Ben Franklin (yes, he’s related) is from the wrong side of town, with the wrong clothes and the wrong kind of life. He also knows an opportunity when he sees one, and he’ll be happy to tutor Paige—if she makes him into the kind of guy her best friend, the hottest girl in school, will date.

It’s the perfect arrangement. And Paige is determined not even the inconvenient—and utterly imperfect—attraction simmering between her and Ben will ruin it…

Review: 3 1/2 out of 5 stars

I really enjoy these types of books, witty and fun with a side of serious thrown in to balance it all out perfectly.

Paige Westfield is the picture-perfect daughter but is pushed too hard by her parents. When she fails her calculus test it seems her dream of Stanford may be on the line; her only saving grace seems to be accepting tutoring help from Ben Franklin; a boy from the wrong side of town and with a request of his own.

Ben was a sweetheart! he agrees to tutor Paige if she will make him more appealing to her best friend Zoey who is quite popular.

All of the characters were well written and likeable – there was no bad guy in this book which I appreciated, Paige was really sweet, ambitious and a perfectionist and she was willing to help anyone when needed, Ben was such a great character, smart and funny and complimented Paige beautifully, his home life was quite difficult but he was trying to make more of it by working hard to achieve his dreams; I really hope Zoey gets her own book, she was a fabulous best friend.

The romance was my favourite aspect, seeing Paige realise that Ben was pretty perfect himself was great to see unfold; her parents would definitely not approve but she was able to look above where he was from. A slow to burn romance is always my favourite.

Speaking of Paige’s parents, I couldn’t stand her mother but came to like her father! The pressure she was under to be perfect in every which way was OTT. I felt for her.

I enjoyed the authors writing style, getting both Paige's and Ben's POV added depth and allowed me to relate to both of the characters.
With these types of books you can guess what the outcome is going to be but the fun part is getting to that point, it was quite predictable.

Finding Perfect is a sweet, light-hearted read without angst and drama. A perfect cute, fluffy book.

  2. The romance sounds sweet, and I like that it highlights some of the pressures teens face.
