Oh my
gosh! I need the next book stat. I am really enjoying this series but the
ending has left me shocked and a little devastated and confused.
Sea of Stars
begins where Under Different Stars left us. A brewing war is
coming between Rafe and the Alameeda and Kricket Hollowell, a half-breed is in
the middle of it because of her ability to see the future and also her truth
telling power.
The plot is fast paced and continues to take us on a thrilling adventure; we
learn of a foretold prophecy in Under
Different Stars where one house will rise to power and the other will be
completely wiped out and the events of this begin to play out in this book. The
action and political struggles begin right from the onset.
Kricket
is a fabulous character, witty, intelligent and brave – I absolutely adore her!
I have also come to love the relationship she has with broody, smexy Trey; who
is more protective of her now more than ever.
The
side characters are each written to perfection, Wayra and Jax bring some witty
dialogue and my feelings are still torn about Kyon; I’m not too sure what to
make of his character. I love the bond and friendship some of these characters
share. We get some pretty steamy moments between Kricket and Trey which probably border more on NA/Adult rather than YA but it was all done well.
Sea
of Stars takes us on an action-packed thrill-ride, poor Kricket goes through so
much in this book; my heart broke for her at times. Amy A Bartol's writing is engaging, there is so much going on that real life takes a back seat. I love books where you never quite know in which direction the author will take things, the element of surprise is keeping things interesting.
I am more than eager to read the next book in the Kricket series, Darken the Stars which has an anticipated September 2015 release date.

They listen patiently when I talk about my characters like they’re real. They rarely roll their eyes when I tell them I’ll only be a second while I finish writing a chapter…and then they take off their coats.
