Character Interview- Angelia Lafosse
1. Hi Lia! Welcome to Obsession with Books! Can you please tell us all a bit about yourself?
It's a pleasure to be here at Obsession with Books. I never really liked talking about myself too much. I guess you can say I'm the type of person who doesn't open up easily. But for you I will try… My name's Angelia Lafosse, but everyone calls me Lia. I live in Lander, WY with my foster father John. I'm a senior at Lander Valley High and I'm also a werewolf.
2. What was your initial reaction to finding out you're a werewolf- you knew you were different, but was this what you were expecting?
My first reaction was confusion and fear. It's true that I always knew I was different…cursed, but yea, I never thought I was a werewolf, even though the signs were always there. When I was five years old, I was diagnosed with Lycanthropy. A rare psychotic disorder that causes the person who has it to believe they can transform into an animal. And there were times, when I would dream I was a wolf, and actually wake up outside, covered in dirt and mud. I guess I kinda knew, but never really accepted it.
3. Werewolves aren't perceived as gentle, endearing creatures. What prejudices do you think you will now face?
I think the misconception of werewolves is unfair. Humans fear what they don't understand. I believe everyone has a beast inside them. In some it's buried deep inside that they never feel it, while in others, it stirs. I hope to prove to the world that werewolves are indeed gentle and endearing creatures…we're just misunderstood.
4. You and Adam share a past and now a close bond; what was your first reaction when you met him?
Curiosity. It's a strange feeling meeting someone you've always seen in your thoughts and dreams and realizing that, that person does exist.
5. You must be saddened to know Emi, who used to be your friend now wants you dead-does this hold you back when it comes to confrontations with her?
It does sadden me that Emi and I are no longer friends, and worse, that she wants me dead. Although Emi and I were never really that close, she did help me break free from the wall I built around myself, and for that I'll always be thankful. It sucks that things had to turn in the direction that it did.
6. Ryan Woodruff is your best friend. Can you tell us a little about your friendship and what makes it so special? Also, do you think his feelings for you are stronger than he leads you to believe?
Ryan is an awesome friend, although at times he can be annoying! (chuckles) He'd probably kill me if he knew I said that. Because of Ryan, I was able to find out about my family's past and because of him, I now know how to accept what I am. I've never known anyone like him. He's caring, funny, and the best friend anyone would ever wish for. I don't know if his feelings for me are stronger than he leads me to believe. I sure hope they’re not, because I don't feel that way toward him. Don’t get me wrong…I love Ryan, but only as friends.
7. You are a werewolf who has fallen in love with a vampire; what hurdles do you see yourself and Adam facing in the future?
Vampires and werewolves are known enemies. I know our relationship is a little unorthodox, but we can't help whom we fall in love with. I'm sure our relationship won’t please both vampires and werewolves, but together, we’re ready to face whatever hurdles come our way.
8. You are tasked with protecting those you love from the Lobison's- a huge responsibility, how do you cope with this?
It is a hard task. I really don’t think there is any one way to cope with it. I just know that I will do what I have to, to keep my family and friends safe.
9. Are you able to tell us your thoughts of Lyle Ulric? He seems to care a great deal about you and can offer you things Adam cannot- do you feel if Adam and Emi weren't in the scene you could possibly had a relationship with him?
(Sighs deeply) Lyle is someone I felt close to… someone who I believed I might even love. Lyle and I are very much alike. He understood me more than anyone I've ever known did. He also made me feel things I never felt before…and yes, he can offer me things Adam can’t---but I can’t be with someone who preys on innocent people.
10. How do you feel knowing you are reincarnated from Zaria Rohan?
At first, the idea of being the reincarnation of another person scared me. It was all too foreign for me to grasp. But then the thought of having a second chance at life---changing the plans fate has written out for you, became interesting. Although I was given her diary, I refused to read it. I might've been Zaria in a past life, but I'm Lia now and I refuse to live my life in her shoes.
11. There are a number of choices you were required to make, what do you feel was your greatest sacrifice?
Leaving my family and friends…it's the only way I know how to protect them.
12. If the story of your life was being made into a movie, which actor would play you?
This might sound strange because this actress plays a vampire on T.V. but I would choose, Deborah Ann Woll. She's as pale as me and we both have the same color eyes, although my hair is black.
13. Lastly, what are your plans going forth? Will you still be making the trip to Louisiana now that Adam is back in your life?
Yes, I still plan on making the trip to Louisiana. Hopefully we can start fresh in a new town, new state, far away from Emi and Lyle.
Thank you so much for stopping by Lia! I really appreciate your time.

This was a great, fun interview. I've been fascinated by Nilsa's story even before reading this but I didn't know the Lander, Wy connection. I grew up in that neck of the woods myself.
