Hi
Everyone!
BEA is definitely an
event I won’t be attending anytime soon unfortunately, although NYC is an
absolute dream of mine; since I am from Australia I am participating in the
next best thing, Armchair
BEA.
This
year's theme is all about community, and the main goal is to encourage visiting
and getting to know the vast number of bloggers/participants.
Armchair
BEA kicks-off with introductions!!
So without further ado,
my answers to a few of the questions.
(A full list can be found
HERE)
Please tell
us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging?
Why did you get into blogging?
My name is Sharon; I am from Sydney
Australia and a full-time mum to 2 gorgeous children. I absolutely LOVE to read
and I have been blogging since March 2011.
What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book
you have read so far in 2012?
I
am currently reading Sweet Evil by Wendy
Higgins! Finding the time over the past few days to fit in reading has been a
tad frustrating especially since this is a book I am really really enjoying.
If you
could eat dinner with any author or character, who would it be and why?
Easy peasy! It would
definitely be my all time favorite author Karen Marie Moning, never before have
I been so obsessed with a series than what I was with her Fever
series – I loved it and am so anxious to read more.
Have your
reading tastes changed since you started blogging? How?
When I first started blogging
it was all Adult Paranormal/Urban Fantasy and Contemporary or Romantic
Suspense, but since starting on Young Adult novels, I am completely converted
(unless it is a series or author I absolutely love).
What is your favorite feature on your blog (i.e. author
interviews, memes, something specific to your blog)?
I
contribute the number of followers I have today from participating in weekly
memes, specifically Parajunkee/Alison Can Read, Feature & Follow Friday as
well as Waiting
on Wednesday hosted by Breaking the Spine.
Interviewing
authors is also fun! I recently got to interview the amazingly awesome Julie
Kagawa and her answers were wonderful.
Thank-you for stopping by!!
YAY YA! ;) I love how many bloggers have converted over. They are so much to read. I do love adult, but there's just something about YA.
ReplyDeleteHow are you enjoying Sweet Evil? I really enjoyed it.
Going to NY would be all kinds of amazing! However, I think being from Australia is totally awesome! I haven't read Sweet Evil yet, but am looking forward to it! Thanks for stopping by, it's great meeting you!
ReplyDeleteSydney is gorgeous! I was thrilled when my brother (who is in the air force) got posted there because it meant I could legitimately make up reasons to go visit... and have free accommodation when I was there :P
ReplyDeleteI also love the Fever series. Before I read it I couldn't work out what the big deal was with Barrons but now I get it.
I would love to visit Australia someday! Maybe when the kids are bigger :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree, author interviews are so much fun!
Pleased to meet you, and thanks for stopping by my Armchair BEA Intro Post.
Great getting to know you Sharon. Hope you'll stop by my post; http://fredasvoice.blogspot.ca/2012/06/armchair-bea-day-one-introductions.html
ReplyDeleteI need to check out the Fever series...I have heard great things about it! I hate when you have an awesome book to read, but just can't find the time to read!! aghh! I feel your pain!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!

I really enjot the 'Waiting on' Wednesday meme as well. I am always adding books to my TBR every week.
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit Sydney someday. I wish I wasn't afraid of flying!
I hope you find time to read! Sweet Evil sounds really good! :)
My intro!
I hope one day you can make time to go to BEA, though I understand how hard it is being so far off, Australia is gorgeous I definitely want to visit some day. I hope Sweet Evil is great, I want to read that one as well.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, Moning would be amazing to have dinner with! That's so awesome. And gosh, I need to read Sweet Evil and that's SOON. o: Love the sound of it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! Have a lovely day. :D
I would love the chance to visit Sydney some day, and I'm sure you would love NYC.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great week!
Australia! That makes me so excited. I would love to go there! I really want to read Sweet Evil, so I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it. :)
ReplyDeleteAustralia is somewhere I've always wanted to visit. I was completely jealous when my cousin spent a semester in Brisbane.
ReplyDeleteI think I've started reading more YA since I've been blogging as well although I have expanded my choices in adult fiction too. There are just way too many great books out there and not enough time to read!
I'd love to visit Sydney sometime. My brother took some pictures when he went down there for work, and it looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy a good YA novel, but I can't imagine giving up the adult geared books.
I've always wanted to visit Australia
ReplyDeleteYou're from Australia? That's so cool!
ReplyDeleteThe Fever series is the BEST EVER! <333333 Barrons! Hahahaha! I totally agree with you about YA books. I surprised myself when I counted out how many of the books I had read this year were actually YA. I think it's like 30 of 35 or something like that. They can be pretty amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
