Hi everyone!!
Thank-you for stopping by..
Feature and Follow Friday is a
weekly meme hosted by the wonderful Parajunkee
& Alison Can Read
This weeks featured blogs: Compelled by Words and The
Bookshelf Review
Question: What would you do over if you were to start your blog again from scratch?
There are a few small-ish things I would change; definitely more networking with other bloggers. I would have selected a different template (I love the one I have but it's a bit too cutesie now). I would have paced my reviews more evenly instead of right on top of one another and a different selection of books - I rushed in gun ho and was all over the place! But I have learnt a lot in the 1 1/2 years I have been blogging and I'm quite content with how things are going.
What to do..
·
Grab
the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a
place to say hi in your comments
·
Follow
the featured weekly bloggers
·
Follow
Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few.
·
The
whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow,
comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if
you don't say "HI"
·
If
someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back.
·
Spread
the Love...and the followers
·
If
you're new to the follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by
and check out your blog!

Good answer! Networking is key :D
ReplyDeleteI agree with your advice. And I really like your layout. I could see how it is "cutsie", but I love the owls and they are memorable. Here's mine: http://harleybearbookblog.blogspot.com/2012/08/feature-follow-friday-10.html

ReplyDeleteI need to learn how to network better. I'm really, really (like you can't imagine how bad I am) bad at networking. I always forget to go twitter so I am working on that!

I really like your lay out. But I think that networking is extremely important. Great answer.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with your blog template. I am obsessed with OWLS.

Pacing! I had never thought about how important it was, but that is soooo stinkin' true! Wonderful way to phrase it. I love your blog template :)

I didn't network so much when I started out, either. I should have, but I didn't really realize just how big a community there was!

You can always change the template! I think everyone takes a couple of months to find their stride, so no big deal! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI think I would have people follow Linky instead of Google so if I started a website I could move all the wonderful readers with me. LOL thanks for stopping by my blog and nice answer!!! New Follower via GFC

Yep, I'm with you 100% on that! I wish I'd been better at scheduling things out and pacing myself. That's something I'm just learning, and I've been in it for 2 years now. Luckily, we do learn as we go!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by this weekend!
This is a fascinating post! I am not sure exactly what I would do if I started again- but I would probably pick a shorter URl because it is so long to type and I would definitely start off networking better! When I first started I didn't always go back and comment on the blogs that commented on mine, but once I learned to do that I have been very good about it. Thanks for sharing!

Ya networking always helps. I like your layout!!
ReplyDeleteThose all sound like things that most of us could have done better when we were new :-) Especially picking what books to review at first! Mine were crazy.
ReplyDeleteNew follower! Thanks for stopping by my FF!
I didn't even have books to review when I first started :O
ReplyDeletePS: I love your layout, cutesie or not!
