My review of Wait for You

I gotta say, JLA can do no wrong, brilliant with adult, YA and the NA genres, Trust in Me is a fabulous addition to the Wait For You series.

Trust in Me is Cam’s side of the story and I have to admit he is my perfect guy! he is witty, sarcastic, over-protective and caring of everyone around him and I loved the way he treated Avery, oh so sweet! I adore him, he’s a guy you just can’t help but fall in love and lust with.

As we learnt in Wait for You, Avery has many secrets and a haunting past that still plays havoc on her emotions but Cam is persistent and doesn’t give up, I loved this about him – she was reluctant but he never let her get away. It was nice to see his reactions to her skittishness and her actions, it was a welcome insight and done well, she came across as a lot more reserved in this book.

There is no over the top plot, no unnecessary angst it was just an enjoyable story; the romance leaves me gushing; the banter between Cam and Avery was done extremely well, one thing about JLA that I love is her witty dialogue, her humour and one liners, this couple certainly aren’t perfect but they were an ideal complement to one another and their relationship was built solely from a friendship initially with a load of chemistry and flirtation which I really appreciated.

JLA’s story-telling is always superb, the writing is brilliant and engaging and it was so nice to get further insight into Cam’s thought and actions. The secondary characters were also wonderful, especially Jase and Ollie and I am looking forward to learning more about Theresa Hamilton in the next book.

Overall, Trust in Me is a fabulous addition to the Wait for You series, JLA can write both female and male character POV's perfectly! I am so excited for the next book in the series Be With Me which has an anticipated February 2014 release date.

Fave quotes: My smile was the size of an earthquake crater. ‘You’ve been checking me out, haven’t you? In between your flaming insults? I feel like man candy.’

Holy shit, Strawberry Shortcake just ran me over.

Avery’s eyes met mine for a second and then she spun around and ran. Bag thumping off her hip, hair flying like a cape. The chick ran, actually freaking ran. My mouth dropped open.

All the rumors you heard about her state aren’t true.

Well, mostly. When she's not hard at work writing, she spends her time, reading, working out, watching zombie movies, and pretending to write.

  3. I'm glad that you liked this one. I didn't really enjoy the first book, so there was no way I was going to read this one. Plus, I heard it's basically the same story as the first one with no extra scenes, so I really did not see the point of it.
I am however beyond excited for Teressa's book! That one sounds fabulous.
    Lovely review, Sharon!

  4. You are doing so much better than me at keeping up with JLA's books, Sharon! I'm happy you're loving her NA stuff, since I imagine it's a different side of her writing than her YA or adult books. I'm wary of novels/novellas that "re-tell" a book from a different character's POV but it sounds like this one might be worth it! <3
